Description

We all want to ensure that we support our nonverbal students. This simple, clear resource does just that for your addition lessons. You may also have lower functioning students who need the addition procedure broken down into discrete steps.

Your students will be able to make two sets of items, then add them together along the bottom of the mat. The numbers along the bottom support the student in answering the equation. You may have the student name the total by pointing to the number on the mat, writing a number, using AAC, or selecting a number card.

See the product in action here:  https://youtu.be/xIbMgH-W2wA

You can also show this video to your students to familiarize them with the procedure, or to review the procedure after you have taught them.

Two sets of number sentence cards are included: one set with color cues to assist a student in making the two sets of items, and one set in black text for those who do not need that support.

Includes:

  • Addition mat
  • Color coded cards for 18 number sentences with sums up to 10
  • Plain cards for same 18 number sentences
