I am an educator with 25 years of classroom experience, currently teaching 3rd grade. Over the course of my career across multiple school districts, I have spent decades refining what actually works in the classroom. My daily focus is on executing rigid instructional frameworks, targeted small groups, and highly effective literacy and math blocks.

My teaching style is highly structured, predictable, and focused on maximizing every minute of instructional time. I believe in the power of targeted small-group rotations for both literacy and math, which allows for true, data-driven differentiation. I rely heavily on consistent frameworks—such as daily spiral reviews, structured writing methods, and explicit independent work expectations—to foster student independence and deep mastery. My resources reflect this exact philosophy: they are rigorous, routine-based, and designed to keep students highly accountable while freeing up the teacher for meaningful small-group interventions.

For me, the greatest reward in my 25 years in education hasn't been a single plaque on the wall, but rather the sustained success of my students and the educators I have had the privilege to mentor. Serving as a 3rd-grade instructional coach has been a definitive highlight of my career. There is nothing quite like taking decades of classroom trial and error and transforming it into bulletproof systems—like targeted, high-yield ELA and Math rotations. My true "shining moments" happen every time I see my students confidently hit their mastery timelines, or when I can help a fellow teacher implement a framework that brings joy and balance back to their own classroom.

I earned my Bachelors degree in Elementary Education and Interdisciplinary Studies from Western Oregon University. I then went on to earn my Masters Degree in Education with a Technology focus from Alliant International University. While my formal university education provided a strong, essential foundation in pedagogy and child development, my true education has been an ongoing journey over the last 25 years in the classroom. Engaging in continuous professional development, adapting to new curriculum standards across different school districts, and deeply studying instructional frameworks have been the most profound learning experiences of my career.

When I am not in the classroom or coaching fellow educators, I am passionately designing resources for Cashwell Creations and creating products for The Cashwell Family Mercantile. I know firsthand how exhausting teaching can be, and my ultimate goal is to help other teachers get their weekends back!
