Preparation:
Print and laminate each sheet.
Cut each sheet into two cards.
Hole-punch the top left corner of each card so that

you can easily store all cards together on a storage ring.

Instructions:
Cover up each hat with BLACK dry-erase marker.
Give your student a tissue to erase each hat as you play.

How to use:
The single hats have one item HIDDEN within. Your student has to erase the black dry-erase to discover what the magician has hidden within. Then it is your student's turn to do a MAGIC TRICK! Have your student create a magic word to use. Give them a magician's wand to be even more playful! Have them tap each of the double hats before erasing the dry-erase marker on those hats. What they will discover are TWO more of the same item from the first hat.

At this point:
Have your student exclaim: he turned one ___ into two ____s!
Your student can pretend to be the Magician’s assistant who is announcing what has just happened!
