Description

Just add non-fiction books to this interactive reading notebook resource! This is completely Common Core aligned and covers ALL the Common Core reading standards for informational text for kindergarten and first grade.

This resource is made to be exactly what the name suggests: interactive. My vision was to make it like a conversation between a child and the interactive notebook. This was created for children to revisit again and again to quiz themselves by making use of the flapping or spinning that each page performs.

EVERY entry contains something that moves!

Includes photographed directions for each template type in PowerPoint to show your students how to put these together! No animations, but very handy for projecting.

Includes:

-43 Interactive Notebook Reading Journal Entries

- PowerPoint Photographed Instructions for constructing the types of templates

-Teacher notes/ lesson plans organized with each notebook entry for clarity and easy reference

-Table of Contents

-Journal Covers with 5 Choices

- "I can" statements for each standard and on most journal entries

-A heading on each notebook entry (except the steps accordion and scientific method accordions)

-A copy of the PowerPoint Instructions in PDF in both color and grayscale (and those are not counted in the page count!)

-Standard dividers for organizing this in a teacher binder (and already organized with them in the pdf)

Some Things Covered in the Interactive Notebook Entries:

-K-W-L Chart

-Comprehension questions

-Context Clues

-Reading Responses

-Author’s Purpose

-Venn Diagram

-Main Idea

-Summarizing

-Visualization

-Text Features

-Web Features

-Inferencing

-Retelling Key Details

-Bubble Map

-Time Line

-Compare/Contrast

-Lunar Cycle

-Butterfly Life Cycle

-Animal Kingdom

-Reading Response

-Other science journal entries

And more and more!

These were created to be used in a composition notebook.

This Interactive Reading Notebook for Non-fiction that is common core aligned is truly going to engage those children and works great as an archive for them to refer to throughout the year!

I found this resource to be very helpful for intervention and supporting students who needed additional reinforcement of foundational reading skills. The interactive notebook format kept students engaged and provided a great reference tool they could revisit throughout the year.
