I began my teaching journey as a toddler and preschool teacher, a role I greatly enjoyed, before moving into a kindergarten program and later becoming a head teacher for school-age students. Working with such a wide range of ages gave me invaluable perspective and prepared me for the path ahead.
After the birth of my first child, I founded and operated an independent child care and early learning program. This experience allowed me to partner closely with families, building trusting relationships while nurturing children’s curiosity and love of learning. From there, I expanded my work to include tutoring students and mentoring teachers, all while continuing my own professional development.
When COVID-19 arrived, I made the decision to homeschool my own three children, who are currently in grades seven, ten, and a freshman in college. Homeschooling has been both the most rewarding and the most challenging endeavor of my career. While I sometimes miss teaching within larger educational settings, I am deeply grateful for the opportunities homeschooling has provided for both my children and myself.
Today, I continue to share my work on Teachers Pay Teachers, driven by a passion for creating meaningful, engaging resources for fellow educators. My goal is to keep building authentic connections within the teaching community and to contribute to the field in new and creative ways, even as my professional journey has taken unexpected turns.
